With eight concurrent blocks and adjustable effect order, plus a volume/expression pedal and onboard noise suppression, you can quickly conjure custom guitar rigs for any genre and songs on your set list. And once you’ve created your sounds, you can assign the GX-1’s footswitches and volume/expression pedal to control anything you want, from simply turning effects on or off to tweaking one or more parameter settings at once.

In the heat of a live gig, you don’t want to be fiddling with a complex multi-effects processor. That’s why BOSS designed the GX-1 for frustration-free sound crafting. Whether you’re editing presets or building sounds from scratch, the GX-1 makes it quick and easy to design and save your custom sounds. Inspired by the GX-100 and GX-10 interfaces, which are acclaimed for their user friendliness, the GX-1 employs hexagon-shaped effect buttons that give you instant visual representation of sound categories. You can use them to turn effects on or off with a toe tap or to access detailed parameters with a long press. There are 99 memories loaded with ready-to-play presets, plus 99 user memories for storing your custom sound creations.
Gear Suite, Tone Studio, and more
The GX-1 features Gear Suite, a powerful feature for quickly dialing in amp and effect sounds. With each amp/effect type containing multiple Gear Suite factory settings, you can call up a complete set of professionally curated parameters with the twist of a knob. Of course, you can edit the effect settings to taste and save your personalized patches in Gear Suite user memories for instant recall. When you’re ready to work on your chops, dive into BOSS Tone Studio’s Session feature, which lets you play along with songs and lessons on YouTube, complete with speed adjustment, A/B comparisons, a metronome, and rhythm tracks. And don’t forget to check out BOSS Tone Exchange inside the app for access to amazing pro sounds. Editing tools are also available for fine-tuning effects and organizing your sounds.
